8 Facts I Bet You Don't Know About Disney World's Magic Kingdom
We took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour in February 2020 and learned so much about the Magic Kingdom! It's crazy the amount of details that went into every single item within the park that I couldn't keep it all to myself! Here are 10 facts I defiantly didn't know.
1) There aren't technically underground tunnels in the park- While there are tunnels under Main Street USA, they are not considered underground. Technically speaking Main Street is on the second level.
2) Only one flag in Magic Kingdom is a real flag- Many are fake since they take down the real one everyday and it would be a lot to take them all down.
3)The park entrance was designed to look like a 1930s movie theater entrance. Walt loved going to the movies and therefore designed the entrance to resemble that experience.
4)70% of Walt Disney World guest are first timers or it's their first time in ten years! Which is why I am here so please ask any questions!
5) The two colors Disney World uses to disguise buildings and objects that don't want customers looking at are go away green and bye bye blue!
6) Pre-pandemic times Disney World employed 80,000 cast members. The hope is they will be back there soon.
7) Due to the amazing firework shows in all parks every evening- Disney World is the second largest purchaser of gun powder next to the US military.
8) The castle in Magic Kingdom is the second most photographed piece of architecture in the world behind the Eiffel tower.
Bonus Fact: Epcot was originally designed as a city instead of a park.
We learned these fun facts by taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom! It was absolutely a blast and I suggest it to everyone! You even get to tour the tunnels below Main Street.
